Meet Dr. Alyssa Richardson (Shedlarski)
Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist, Owner Tend and Release PT and Wellness
Alyssa graduated with her B.S. in Exercise Science from East Tennessee State University in 2011, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2015. She has obtained a certificate as an Orthopedic Manual Therapist, and has also completed certifications in Dry Needling, Pelvic Health, Postpartum Rehabilitation, Pre and Post Natal Coaching and Trauma Informed Yoga. She has experience in personal training, Olympic Weightlifting, running, yoga and Pilates. She loves helping people return to an active lifestyle without significant pain. She is excited to use her knowledge to help you improve your functional mobility!

Pelvic Health
Pelvic Health Physical Therapist focuses on bladder issues, incontinence, reproductive organs (pain with sex), chronic pain, postpartum moms, pregnancy, abdominal separation, endometriosis, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, tailbone pain, and muscle spasms. .

Dry Needling
Dry needling creates very small lesions into the soft tissue to help with dysfunction, decrease inflammation, decrease nerve sensitivity, decrease scar tissue formation, and decrease adhesions. It is called dry needling because nothing is on the needle and the needle is so tiny that no scar tissue is created.

Manual Therapy
Manual therapy involves soft tissue or joint mobilizations. It can be done using the therapist's hands or using tools to reduce tension, improve mobility, assist in tissue healing and reduce inflammation. This includes cupping, IASTM, myofascial release and trigger point release.
